We offer classes for beginners (Hedgcoxe Knights) and advanced students (Hedgcoxe Rooks). These classes are offered in the Fall and Spring terms.

Chess team members also get an opportunity to play in area chess tournaments.

• Chess to learn strategies and analysis of games
• Focused on competitive chess play
• Enroll as openings arise
• Meet Wednesdays 2:45 – 4:15
• 10 classes for $70
• Taught by UTD chess students
• Managed by parent volunteers
• Must miss no more than 2 classes per semester
• Students should be willing to notate all games and use clocks
• Students will be encouraged to help out with the chess Knights by playing/teaching new kids
